For Pre-Fall 2015, House of Holland melded the sultry and punk-inspired misadventures of Tank Girl with the sights from his recent travels to Thailand. The latter was blatant on a graphic and colorful satin kimono and other bold pieces reminiscent of Muay Thai fighter uniforms, while the former rendered itself in quirky comic- influenced prints, raw hems, sexy crop tops, and cartoon-splatted lace-up chunky boots.
A mushroom print was equal parts psychedelic and Super Mario Bros. — harking back to Tank Girl’s unfortunate substance abuse. On a curve-hugging LBD, wrap skort, button-front shirt, and zip pouch, the trippy pieces will be sure to fly off shelves and stand out in any crowd.
Tartan is intrinsic of HoH’s DNA, thus the designer injected a taste of the Highlands into high-waist wrap skirts, on-trend cutout dresses, and leg-baring frocks. Colors were bold as is requisite for the brand including hot pink, baby blue, and grape.
Houndstooth also injected energy into the collection on functional button-front shirts accented with edgy harnesses, fringe-accented wrap skirt frocks, and a long-sleeve crop top and bermuda short combination that will be perfect for that Summer to Fall transition.
Paillettes added some embellishment to the collection and made quite a good case for spirited, red carpet-ready attire. The pieces were originally meant to be a part of Lily Allen’s stage attire, but just about any stylish Hollywood starlet could make a lavender mini dress work. A forest green top and wrap pencil skirt combination in the shimmering detail will surely show up at a movie premiere or fashionable cocktail party in the coming months.
